We are happy to invite you to the “6th International Bernd-Spiessl-Symposium for Innovative and Visionary Technologies in Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery”, from June, Thursday 17th to Saturday 19th 2010. The symposium will take place at the University of Basel, which celebrates in 2010 the 550th anniversary. Simultaneously the city is holding the world-famous exhibition ART Basel.

The symposium will confront you with the human face in the most varying aspects of cranio-maxillofacial surgery, of life sciences, computer science, humanities and arts. The topics 2010 are: “Face & Identity” and “Spirit of Innovation”. With guests from all over the world we will discuss the latest results of research in these fields. The first day of the symposium we invite you to special workshops and to an opening session about cleft lip and palate.

Aside the fascinating lectures from international experts, young scientists will present their work and compete for the Bernd-Spiessl-Award 2010 (Best Lecture and Best Poster).

The syn- and transdisciplinarity of this symposium is ensured by the three organizing partners: the Department of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery & the Hightech Research Center of the University Hospital Basel, the Department of Oral Surgery, Oral Radiology & Oral Medicine of the University Basel, and the Academy of Art and Design in Basel.
